In some circumstances, the FAST-ACT Mask can be used to alleviate smells and chemical vapors. The product works for emergency situations, or for odor reduction applications.

Chemical Attack:
When an unknown strike happens involving chemicals, including chemical warfare agents, FAST-ACT products can be used to clean up chemical contamination on surfaces, gear, and air spaces.

Decontamination of Personal Equipment:
The FAST-ACT sorbent powder is ideal for decontaminating personal equipment like weapons, masks, boots, and other tactical equipment. The mitt is great for a quick wipe down, and the microfiber towel can be used for the finer detail level cleaning. The powder bottles quickly apply the FAST-ACT sorbet powder to a variety of surface efficiently.

Cleanup of a Chemical or Fuel Spill:
Rapidly apply FAST-ACT sorbent powder in bulk to a chemical spill from a shaker or pail.

Unknown Hazard Exposure:
Once the incident is over, treat the residual liquid chemical with bulk FAST-ACT sorbent powder.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:

Microfiber Towel Kit :
1. Tear open the pack.
2. Carefully remove the roll of 2 microfiber towels from the package.
3. Carefully unroll the towels on a flat surface. Keep the black towel folded at this time, as it contains the FAST-ACT powder.
4. Using the green-colored towel, blot the contaminated surface to absorb the excess chemical.
5. Wipe the surface if the green towel is not saturated.
6. Carefully unfold the black-colored towel to expose the FAST-ACT powder contained within.
7. Spread the FAST-ACT powder onto the surface using the towel. Continue wiping to get powder into full contact with the surface.

50-Gram Bottle Pack
1. Tear open the packet at the notch.
2. Remove 1 FAST-ACT 50-Gram bottle and shake for 5 seconds.
3. Flip open cap dispenser.
4. Invert bottle.
5. Aim in direction of the surface for powder and decontamination application.
6. Squeeze bottle to dispense powder on to the surface.
7. Zip close bag for storage and between uses.

Decon Mitt
1. Tear packet at the notch and remove decon mitt.
2. Unfold mitt and insert hand, tightening strap.
3. Decontaminate surface by rubbing with pad side to remove liquid contamination. If liquid contamination is still present or suspected, repeat process with a new decon mitt.

USER CAUTIONS AND WARNINGS:
If the seal has been broken, discard product immediately. Prolonged exposure to the atmosphere will degrade product effectiveness. Close lid between uses. Read and thoroughly understand all directions for use before utilizing the product.

MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE INSTRUCTIONS:
Inspect the unit at least monthly. Check for signs of damage or misuse. Ensure that all text on the label is still readable. Store in a dry place.

DISPOSAL:
The EPA often requires neutralized hazardous materials to be disposed of as if it has not been neutralized. Therefore, the deployed product should be disposed of in accordance to local, state and federal regulations. For federal regulations (U.S.A.) follow 40 CFR 261, Subpart C, Characteristic Hazardous Wastes, and 40 CFR 261, Subpart D, Listed Hazardous Wastes.

Survival Straps Parachute Cord Survival Bracelets

Survival Straps^TM are the original, U.S. made survival bracelet. They are hand-constructed from approximately 16 FEET of Seven-Strand, 550 pound test heavy-duty military specification parachute cord. They contain approximately 1.75 of parachute cord for every inch (wrist size) ordered.

That means that 16 Feet of seven strands, plus the shell, equals about 128 FEET of high-grade nylon cord immediately available for a wide variety of tasks when the inner strands are removed for a variety of applications. In an emergency situation, you can unravel the bracelet and deploy the parachute cord for use. A tough plastic side-release buckle keeps the bracelet on securely, but can be released to deploy the bracelet very quickly. After unbuckling, simply slide out the working ends of cord on the underside of the bracelet, and unravel.

U.S. Military Forces use these survival bracelets every day, and they are proven to be a vital component of any survival-minded persons gear. Survival experts worldwide suggest that survival tools be carried on the person, not just in their gear or equipment pack. Measure First!
These bracelets are already made and ready to ship to you. Please pay close attention to the sizing: These survival bracelets are intentionally made to be slightly larger than your measured wrist. To measure, use a string to wrap around your lower wrist and then measure the string. (The lower wrist is where the bracelet will fall naturally due to your own wrists movements). If you are in between sizes, use the larger size. Ensure that you measure your wrist prior to order, as exchanges or returns for size issues are not allowed. Note: completely soaking the bracelet in water and drying completely will shrink the bracelet by about one-quarter of an inch.

Ranger Pace Counter
Ranger Pace Counter: The time-tested way to keep track of distance you’ve traveled in difficult terrain or conditions. Military personnel have used such simple devices for decades as an easy way to keep track of distance traveled during terrain navigation. This becomes essential during night time movement. The beads work by separating them according to a reached pace count to calculate the distance you’ve traveled. (It’s not as hard as it sounds).

1. Place the beads on an easily reachable but secure place on your equipment, such as a shoulder strap.

2. Find your pace count(s): The average used is 65 paces on flat terrain for 100 meters. However, you will want to know your own pace count. A “pace” is counted by every time your left foot strikes the ground while walking at a reasonable stride. (Yes, you can use your right foot if you prefer).
- Measure out 100 meters on flat terrain.
- Walk this distance counting your paces (again, every time your left foot strikes the ground).
- The number you reach at the end of 100 meters is your pace count for 100 meters of flat terrain.
- It is suggested that you get your pace count in several ways: 1) flat terrain, lightly equipped; 2) flat terrain, heavy equipped; 3) medium-steep terrain, lightly equipped, and; 4) medium-steep terrain, heavy equipped. Thus, 4 pace counts are made under these conditions. (Very steep terrain tends not to work well with pace counting). Remember your pace count for each.
- As you age or your physical condition changes, your pace count will likely change as well.
3. Using the Pace Counter:
- Pull all of the beads in the up position.
- The bottom half of the pace counter has 9 beads. Each of these 9 beads represents 100 meters.
- When your pace count for the terrain you are on reaches the mark for 100 meters, draw down one bead from the bottom half of the pace counter.
- When all 9 beads are down, you have traveled 900 meters.
- The top half of the pace counter has 4 beads. Each of these beads represents 1,000 meters (1 kilometer).
- Thus, after you have traveled 900 meters, and all of the bottom 9 beads are down, the next 100 meters traveled will be 1,000 meters of travel (1 kilometer). When that mark is reached, you pull one of the top beads down to mark the 1 kilometer of distance traveled, and pull the bottom 9 beads back to their up position.
- Continue to do this process until all 4 top beads are down, representing 4 kilometers of travel, and repeat the process by moving all of the beads back to their up position.
- Now, the only number you need to keep in your head is the total kilometers traveled after the sequence is complete (4k, 8k, etc.)
- NOTE: Some use the technique whereby the down and up position of the beads is used to determine whether you are on the first set (4k) or second set (8k) — and variations of this. Whatever the method you choose, the beads will enable you to keep very few numbers in your head while you continue to travel, while maintaining an accurate pace count related to distance traveled.
- ALSO NOTE: This method is best used in conjunction with a topographical map. If your map is in “standard” or English / Imperial measurement (feet/miles, etc.) then be sure to know the conversion between metric and English, or, perform your pace count measurements in the format best used in conjunction with your maps.
- FINAL NOTE: This method works best on direct azimuth traveling (straight line distances). If changing direction, it is best to mark the position on your map where you change direction in order to not only measure the distance traveled, but where you are precisely in relation to your map. It will not help you much to perform pace counts while traveling in variable directions without notating the changes on your map.
