The Head for Survival® Triangular Bandana / Cravat is a multi-function tool that provides a wide variety of uses in one piece of gear. Sized at 39″ x 39″ x 52″, this critical piece of equipment contains vital survival information organized by topics: Navigation, Fire Starting, Shelter, Water Collection & Purification, Signaling, a useful Knots section, and a section for Priorities considerations. Printed in non-running ink and constructed from soft-brush polyester that provides a comfortable feel and durability. The edging seams are lock stitched for increased strength. Also included are two 2″ safety pins for use in sling construction.

For example, it won’t tell you how to use your compass (you should already know that), but will tell you how to use the stars, your watch, or the shadow stick method to find direction. It won’t teach you how to use a flint striker, but will cover fire building essentials to aid you in making sure that whatever you do use, it will be successful. There’s a lot of information here. It’s printed in 10.5 point font, to maintain its readability while providing as much information as possible.

The AeroVest is an extremely lightweight vest (2 oz.) that, when inflated, provides significant protection from hypothermia. The vest is made from metalized polyethylene, a material designed to reflect your bodys heat. In addition to reflecting up to 90% of your core body heat, the Aerovest has an additional advantage when inflated. The air trapped in the vest acts as a thermal barrier-providing insulation in a way similar to goose down. The outer layer blocks rain and wind.

The inside metal layer reflects back 90% of your core body heat. The outside metal layer blocks the wind and rain. But the real benefit is when you inflate the 18 air pockets.
