Your first stop in getting properly kitted up to address first-aid and medical needs. Choose a kit that properly addresses the size of your group, the duration of your proposed trip, and the location of your adventure. But don’t forget that your plans may change depending on what’s encountered, and so kitting beyond your plan is wise. Also remember that reinforcing your kit with more hemostatics (like QuikClot®) and more pressure bandages will give you the ability to address traumatic bleeding beyond a normal kit load, and greatly increase your team’s survival metrics.
