(11) Every Day Carry (EDC) Section This is our Every Day Carry section: full of small and useful tools you can have with you every day in various carrying areas on your person and gear. Some items you should simply not be without at any time – others provide you with the ability to take the advantage of a situation that you otherwise may not be able to. The obvious choices for placement are briefcases, purses, wallets, glove compartments, etc., but also consider the linings of jackets, waistbands, between shoe laces, zipper pulls and more. Once you start thinking like a “spy” you can identify a wide variety of places to securely stash vital tools to enable you to get out of a situation and survive. In one regular outfit, with some creativity, you can ensure your ability to start a fire; navigate; construct a shelter; signal for rescue; escape from a smoke-filled building, and more. Please note that restraint defeat tools (like handcuff keys) are designed for use during illegal (not legal) restraint.
